Introduction. Bone deficiency during implantation

Vertical deficiency of bone structures in the chewing region of the upper jaw with secondary adentia is a very common situation that we encounter in treating patients. Proper planning of the dental implant surgery is the key to the success of further orthopedic rehabilitation of the patient. In this case, we will point out the clinical features, without taking into account which, orthopedic rehabilitation of a patient with a fixed structure may fail.

The clinical part. Immediate implant placement with delayed loading

The patient is 68 years old. He complained of the absence of a chewing group of teeth on the upper jaw on the left. When conducting x-ray and instrumental studies, a vertical deficiency of bone structures in the area of missing teeth was found 2.5, 2.6, 2.7. The height of the alveolar ridge in this area ranged from 3 to 4 mm. An open left-side sinus lift operation with simultaneous installation of Active Bio dental implants with a delayed load after 2 months was planned. We want to draw attention to the fact that the section of the trepanation of the wall is chosen closer to the top of the alveolar ridge so as not to injure the neurovascular bundle located on the inner surface of the trepanation wall. On CT in the frontal section and 3D pictures in our photo cases, we demonstrated the diagnosis and identification of such important anatomical structures, ignoring which leads to hemosinus.

Diagnosis:

Defect of the dentition in the upper jaw on the left, Kennedy class II. Secondary adentia 2.4, 2.5, 2.6, 2.7, 2.8.

Conclusions. Using Alpha Dent Active Bio implants reduces prosthetics

The use of a new line of Alpha Dent Active Bio implants with a patented trihedral cross-section allows to reduce the terms of prosthetics in this category of patients in complex clinical cases with vertical bone deficiency. Do not forget that implant stabilization in these clinical situations occurs exclusively in the area of its neck. The continuous thread of the Active Bio implant provides excellent primary stabilization performance in the alveolar ridge 3 mm high.
